Policies & Procedures

 

  • Consultation - All new potential clients will receive a FREE meet & greet. This is a great time for you and your pet/s to get to know us. We will discuss what you are looking for in detail, and will answer all of your questions so that you can decide if Bestiocracy is a good fit for you, your family and most of all your pet/s.

  • Rates - Since we offer many different services, our rates vary accordingly. Visit our SERVICES page to get an idea of the different services that we offer and view our general rates.  Of course we know that each pet family has different needs and this isn't a "one size fits all" business. We will work with you to create an estimate of services that is right for you and your family.

  • Forms of Payment - We accept cash and personal checks (returned check fee of $25). You can also make credit and debit card payments on our website through paypal.

  • Service Hours - Bestiocracy offers 4 blocks or service times. Morning visits are offered between 6am-9am, mid-day visits are offered between 11am-2pm, evening visits are offered between 4pm-6pm and late night visits are offered between 8pm-10pm. We are a first come first serve business, so the earlier ahead of time you book your visits or vacation stay the better chance that we can offer the time frame that you are looking for. Specific times may be requested but not guaranteed.

  • Business Hours - Our business hours are 9am-11am and 2pm-4pm. Our business hours are the times during the day specifically reserved for scheduling reservations, processing new clients and dealing with customer service issues. Of course, we will do our best returning phone calls, emails and texts in a timely manner.

  • Payment Process - We ask that payment is received on or before the day of service. In the case of vacation visits or stays we require a 50% deposit. We understand that you may forget to leave payment at one time or another or you may have to unexpectedly schedule last minute services. In those cases we ask that payment is received no later than 1 week after date of service.

  • Refunds - Bestiocracy does not offer refunds. If you are unhappy with any part of your service please contact us and we will do our best to resolve any issues. Our clients and pet/s happiness is our number one priority and we strive to keep a happy ongoing relationship with you and your pet/s!​​

  • Cancellation - We understand that "stuff" happens! If you need to cancel a morning visit we ask that let us know at least 1 hour before scheduled visit. If you need to cancel a vacation stay we ask for at least 7 days notice. If cancellations are done within those time parameters you will receive a full credit toward your next scheduled service. Credits with us do not expire!

  • Reservations - Reservation requests can be made by phone, email or text. Reservations are NOT confirmed until Bestiocracy has accepted by phone, email or text.

  • Last Minute Service - We will do our best to accommodate last minute requests. Unfortunately, we may not always have the availability to do so.  If we can accommodate you, we do charge a $10 last minute service fee for services requested within 2 hours.

  • Holiday Service Fee - While we know holidays are busy times for everyone and pet care is still needed, we do charge an additional Holiday Service Fee of $25 for the following major holidays...

  • Friends & Family Access -  Bestiocracy does not share in pet care responsibilities. We do understand that you may have friends and family checking in while you are away. If so, please provide Bestiocracy with the names of people who may be at or may show up while we are in your home. You will be notified immediately if someone comes to your home who is not on the list. We will not permit anyone access to your home unless we have previous knowledge of, in writing, (text or email) by you. Bestiocracy is not responsible for any damages while others have access to your home.

  • Key Policy - We ask that you provide either 2 working keys to us before service (preferably at the meet & greet) or we offer a $15 key pick-up and drop off service. We will keep your keys in a secure location. You may also provide us with a garage code and hide-a-key location or you could use our favorite method...by providing (or asking us to provide for $25 ) a lock box for your home.

  • Unsecured Pets - Bestiocracy does not provide service for unsecured pets. We will certainly spend time outdoors with your pet, but we will not leave a pet outdoors, unsecured and unsupervised for any reason. 

  • Weather Policy - As New Englanders, we know that the weather can be unpredictable! We ask that you do your best to offer us safe access to your home by shoveling your driveway, walkway and porch during snow storms. We will do our best to care for your pets during these times. Vacation sits will have top priority during inclement weather. In extreme temperatures we may decide to allow your dog a quick outdoor potty break instead of a long walk and spend the remaining time engaging your pet/s indoors. Bestiocracy does not walk dogs for more then 10 minutes when the temperature is over 90 degrees or under 20 degrees. 

  • Confidentiality - All of your information will be kept private and confidential. Bestiocracy highly respects our clients that are entrusting us with the care of their pets and homes. Information will not be shared unless requested in writing by the client or by subpoena of law enforcement agencies.

 

  • Right to refuse - Bestiocracy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services at our discretion if we feel that that there are unsafe conditions in your home, neighborhood or with your pet.
